Rescue Kitten 'Wastes No Time' Bossing New Owner Around

A rescue kitten needed no time in adjusting to her new foster home, as she made herself heard loud and clear in a recent TikTok video.

Justin, a cat owner living in Arizona, told Newsweek that he rescued an orange kitten with an eye problem. He knew most people would see her and immediately think of a vet bill. But Justin brought her home, spent $200 at the vet and now he's looking after her.

Typically, rescue pets experience an adjustment period as they transition to their new environments, but this kitten named Tia Tortilla immediately felt the love when she walked into her foster home. Justin's other cats greeted her and they all started playing. And only one day later, she was recorded bossing him around.

In a March 31 TikTok shared to the account @followmycrazycatlife, Justin was petting Tia Tortilla when he stopped and, well, she was not happy. Tia Tortilla turned around, faced him, and let out a screaming meow. She was demanding him to continue petting her.

For such a tiny creature, she had quite the voice on her. Justin said she has the loudest purr, but she's such a sweetheart, following him around the entire house.

Justin will be taking care of Tia Tortilla until mid-May, when her soon-to-be parents return from vacation. Until then, he and his three indoor cats will be enjoying her company.

Once she's off, he'll turn his attention to rescuing another cat as part of a mission he started in 2022: save 10,000 cats. Since he started his goal, he has saved six cats, but before that, he rescued about 35.

He said he'll keep saving cats for as long as he can. And if he reaches his goal, he'll start a new one, as he doesn't see himself ever stopping.
